On Saturday evening we will undertake a waking dream journey accompanied by rhythmic drumming to meet our guides as they appear in this moment of dreaming. We will discover our guides in an image that speaks to us personally whether it be angel, saint, master, animal guide, ancestor or something else. Your imagination within the journey will show the way. We will share images and develop our clay sculpture ideas. The following weekend May 17-18 we will create our clay sculpture to honor our dream. We will each create a hand built clay and mixed media sculpture, figure or mask to represent our guide. No art experience is necessary: Karen will assist you. Sunday, May 25 we will do the glazing. Sculptures can be wall hanging or free standing. Additional studio time can be made available at an extra charge if you wish to embellish your project with mixed media after it is fired.

Our guides show themselves to us in many and varied guises, in forms and garb that are best suited to deliver a helpful message to us in a given time or situation. They reach to us in the way which is most effective. In what form does your guide appear to you? The reality behind the appearance is always on our side, looking out for our best interest and growth on all levels. Their messages may be deep, profound and filled with life purpose or simply practical and grounded in ordinary events of waking life. Guidance is always available. Spiritual guides stand by ready to offer help and support at all times for our highest good.

Sometimes we cannot receive help unless we ask, and there are times that we do not hear their guidance though they may be making every effort to reach us. Sometimes we are simply not paying attention and other times we don't want to listen because we don't like the content of the guidance. In this workshop we take time to lend them an ear. On this day, World Day of Active Dreaming, we will honor our guides with art. It will serve as a reminder that help is always available. We only need to ask and pay attention.

"Unless we do something with our dreams we will not dream well. Dreams require action - action to embody their energy and guidance and bring it into everyday lives" - Robert Moss, ACTIVE DREAMING

"Active Dreaming is a way of being fully of this world while maintaining constant contact with another world, the world-behind-the-world, where the deeper logic and purpose of our lives are to be found."

- Robert Moss, ACTIVE DREAMING: Journeying beyond Self-Limitation to a Life of Wild Freedom.
